Description
This was inspired by a very similar tool (printed on heavy card stock) from DT Swiss which they gave out at a mechanics' seminar several years ago. If you ask nice, they might send you their version. The DT original covered a wider range (up to fat bike sizes) and had direct measurements marked on it, but I find this approach a little easier/quicker to use for most of the thru-axle wheels most mechanics will see. Plus, it'll be more durable than the heavy card stock.
A simple stick that you can use to tell Boost hubs (110m front, 148mm rear) from non-Boost (100mm front, 142mm rear) quickly and easily. Put it through the hub and see what lines up. If it lines up on the side that says "Boost", then you've got a Boost hub. If it doesn't, then you've got an older non-Boost hub.
The hole in the head is for hanging on pegboard.
On the other end are stepped sizes that allow you to tell 12mm from 15mm. There aren't markings, but the small size is 12, and the bigger size is 15mm.
Now available with red on the Boost side and blue on the non-Boost side for even quicker identification.
