Many hubs have endcaps that fit loose for various reasons. This isn't a problem when the wheel is on the bike and the thru-axle is holding everything together, but when the wheel is off, a loose endcap can fall off and get lost, or worse, the freehub can fall off and potentially lose pawls or drop them on the ground where they can get dirty.
Many clever ways to address this - my personal favorite is enlisting an old quick release, but this is another option. Fit it into the end of the axle and turn the thumbwheel while holding the grip and it expands just like an old quill stem to grip the inside of the axle and keep everything together. Fits from 11.9 to 15.5mm ID thru-axles.
Only one included in case you just need to make sure an installed cassette or freehub doesn't come loose, two would be needed for both sides of a wheel.
Available in the full range of colors. I like the orange as it's visually obvious that it's installed so you're less likely to try to install the wheel without removing this first, and as such I stock that. Other colors are print-to-order so are slightly more.
