Description

Apparently you can teach an old DAG new tricks! Give new life to your old Park Tools DAG-1 or DAG-2 with the FlipDAG Pro. The FlipDAG Pro replaces the original indicator holder with one that can rotate the indicator up and out of the way so you can clear obstructions like the seat stay, chainstay, and chain.

This is a new version of my FlipDAG which is designed to be adjustable to work with both DAG-1 and DAG-2 tools. It is, however, important that you read the instructions as it needs to be adjusted upon initial installation, which will take a 2.5mm hex key. This will allow you to control the amount of drag on the shaft to match your preferences. The tool is redesigned to be beefier and more durable for heavy shop use, and the indicator fixing screw now uses an aluminum insert to ensure long life for those threads.

Also available is the GripDAG handle which replaces the original Park sliding T handle with a knob for a bit of color and a nice ergonomic knob. Note that the DAG-1 had different sizes for the axle so if you order the GripDAG for the DAG-1, you will get a shim that allows it to work with the earlier style axle.

Order options:

  • FlipDAG Pro
just the FlipDAG! No replacement handle.
  • GripDAG for DAG-1
GripDAG with a shim to fit both sizes of the DAG-1 axle
  • GripDAG for DAG-2
GripDAG sized for the DAG-2 axle
  • Combo for DAG-1
The FlipDAG and GripDAG as a bundle
  • Combo for DAG-2
The FlipDAG and GripDAG as a bundle for the DAG-2

While nothing can beat the Abbey HAG for portable use, the FlipDAG (and optional GripDAG) can upgrade the DAG to be a fantastic tool for shop use, and in my opinion, even better than the HAG in a shop setting, thanks to the long fixed steel handle. This also makes the DAG-1 and DAG-2 work as well as the new Park DAG-3.
